The YMCA of Hagerstown Youth Sports programs are designed to give your children a safe learning environment, where the focus of the Programs is on Physical, Social, and Mental development. A few of our programs are competitive programs, but most are based upon learning the fundamentals of the Sport while learning the four core values of the YMCA of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility.
YMCA Youth Sports have modified rules to maximize Fun and increase sportsmanship and Fair Play.
The YMCA relies on Community participation for our programs to run successfully. We have over 200 volunteers a year creating great programs for your children, so please consider being a coach! Come and experience what it feels like to teach a child the importance of being physically active , and how sports can become an integral part in everyone’s lives.

Lacrosse
The YMCA has created a Boys and Girls Youth lacrosse program that is just booming with excitement and numbers of players. We have teams for both, boys and girls, K through 8th grade. We are glad to be a strong feeder program for the locals High Schools. Lacrosse clinics are offered Summer/Winter and with leagues play in the Spring. Please click here to read more about our Lacrosse Program. This is a recreational/competitive league that plays games against teams in Washington and Frederick Counties.
Girls Volleyball League
Girls’ grades 3rd-High School. A true team sport, volleyball helps everyone learn important lessons about collaboration and communication on and off the court. Our volleyball programs serve up plenty of fun for all ages and skill levels. Kids learn the basics of passing, setting, hitting, serving and blocking in a fun, supportive environment! Offered throughout the year in Spring and Fall. Registration is required.
T-Ball
Boys and girls ages 4-7 years old. Great learning experience for young kids. One practice and one game per week. Learn basic skills of baseball, teamwork, and make new friends. Offered in the Spring. Registration is required.
Basketball
Boys and girls ages 4years-High School. Great learning experience for young kids. One practice and one game per week. Learn basic skills of baseball, teamwork, and make new friends. Offered throughout the year. Registration is required.
Youth Soccer
Boys and girls ages 4-16 years old Youth soccer is fun, easy to learn and accessible to all kids. The Y offers a league for all ages and skill levels, providing a healthy, fun environment to enjoy the physical benefits and camaraderie of this exciting game. Offered throughout the year. Registration is required.
Tots Soccer (Ages 4-6)
Players take part in fun soccer activities where every player uses a ball and participates in discovery games. All games follow our age specific curriculum which focuses on key skills of social interaction, agility, balance, and coordination. Players participate in 60 minute practices once a week (Saturdays), focused on fun soccer activities. Friend requests are accepted to help with the social development of each player.
Lil’ Kickers (Ages 7-8)
Players participate in 60 minute practices once a week, focused on fun soccer activities and a game session (usually 60 minutes) on the weekend to reinforce those skills. Once players have developed a love for the game players are encouraged to move onto the the Recreational programs with the YMCA.
Elementary (Ages9-10
Middle School (Ages 11-13)
High School (Ages 14 & Up)
Our Recreational Program is designed to meet the needs of the majority of youth soccer players. It is an open program in which players of all abilities are invited to play and enjoy the game. Every child is guaranteed playing time in an environment that places participation, fun, and skill development above winning. Recreational teams are coached exclusively by volunteers.
COACHES NEEDED
Volunteer Coaches are essential for YMCA Youth Sports to be successful. Please consider jumping in and supporting your son/daughter experience by becoming a coach. It is a truly rewarding experience to see kids grow, develop friendships and learn sport skills.
