Summer Camp 2024

Find Your Adventure this Summer at the YMCA of Hagerstown – offering traditional day camps along with sports and specialty camps. The schedule includes 10 weeks of camp and is open to children 4-14 years of age. Registration begins March 16th.

Camps are licensed through MSDE and Purchase of Care Vouchers are accepted.

All Camps require a $50 non-refundable deposit for each week at the time of registration. The deposit goes towards the balance due for that week of camp. If your child does not attend that week it will not be refunded.

Traditional Camps

Little Explorers

Ages 4-5*

$220 for Members/$255 for Program Participants

Your child will have a blast with our Camp Little Explorers! With a fun summer atmosphere, this camp includes water activities, arts and crafts, games, outdoor fun, educational activities, and field trips. Breakfast, lunch, and field trip fees are included in your weekly fee.

*Child must be 5 years of age by December 31 and fully potty trained (No Pullups) to participate. We understand that accidents do happen, especially when the children are involved in fun activities; however, if your child is continuously having accidents, they will not be able to attend camp.

Youth Adventures

Ages 6-12

$220 for Members/$255 for Program Participants

This new and improved camp is modeled after our beloved Camp Holiday! Campers will have lots of summer fun doing age appropriate activities, sports, arts and crafts, water activities, field trips and more. Breakfast, lunch and field trips are included in your weekly fee.

Youth Adventures Weekly Camp Schedule

Hub Club

Ages 6-12

$180 for Members /$215 for Program Participants

Through supervised activities, children can have fun, make new friends, and learn new skills. This camp offers weekly theme-based activities. Campers participate in a wide variety of traditional camp activities including arts and crafts, water activities, and more.

Teen Camps

Ages 13-14

$140 for Members/$175 for Program Participants

Junior Lifeguarding 

Campers will learn the fundamentals of being a lifeguard, water safety, rescues, CPR, AED, and first aid. The camp aims to introduce campers to lifesaving skills and allow participants to shadow lifeguards to gain a real sense of the job. Requirements for camp: swim the front crawl for 25 yards continuously, swim the breaststroke for 25 yards, tread water for one minute using arms and legs, and swim on the back for 25 yards using the elementary backstroke. Week 2

Babysitting Basics 

This camp, run by the American Red Cross, gives campers a foundation on which to build their babysitting business. Campers will receive information clearly, concisely, and interactively. It’s the perfect way for young people to learn about the responsibilities that come with the job, like how to care for infants and children, what to do in an emergency and how to stay safe, choosing activities that are age-appropriate, recognizing, understanding, and handling certain behavior, plus starting your babysitting business. Certification will follow. Week 4

Life Skills 

Healthy eating, time management, personal hygiene, meal planning, and budgeting! This camp will cover all this and more while expressing the need to be self-sufficient as they mature, in a proactive near-peer environment. CPR/First Aid/AED will be offered for certification. Week 6

Sports Camps

Ages 6 to 12

$240 for members/$275 for Program Participants

Find Your Spike. Develop your focus, timing, and execution – all while having fun! Did you know that volleyball was invented at the Y? For nearly 130 years the Y has been the place to hone the timeless art of bump, set, spike. Come learn how to use teamwork and skills to score at our summer camp. Weeks 1 & 8


Find Your Goal. It’s important for kids to have goals – but it’s even more fun to kick them! Our soccer camp is a great way to enhance skills, confidence, and teamwork, all while putting the “fun” in fundamentals. Weeks 2 & 7


Find Your Swing. At the Y, our golf summer camp challenges kids to build their skills and resilience in a positive, inclusive environment where everyone gets a chance to play. This camp travels to local greens to help teach kids new skills, and develop their confidence, but most importantly – it’s fun! Weeks 4 & 9


Find Your Shot. Did you know that basketball was invented at the Y? For more than 130 years, the Y has been the place for sneaker squeaks, bounce passes and crisp swishes. At our camp you can develop your game at the home of hoops with morning drills and skills followed by afternoons of games. Weeks 4 & 9

Flag Football

Find Your Field. The Y has partnered with the NFL to get kids outside to enjoy fresh air, physical activity, and fun with friends through our Flag Football camp. Spend the week learning the fundamentals and playing flag football. Weeks 5 & 6


Find Your Serve. Pickleball takes a few minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. Develop your focus, timing and execution while having fun and staying active. Week 10

Specialty Camps

$240 for members and $275 for Program Participants

FOR AGES 6 to 12

Fin-Tastic Fun!

Calling all Mermaids and Mermen!  Flick your fins to our camp and learn to swish your tail with our camp staff. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, games, and learn how to safely swim with a mono fin. Fins will be provided or can be purchased at the Front Desk. Campers must know how to swim without a floatation device. Lessons on swimming with the fins will be in our small pool, plus there’s free swim time on Friday afternoons. Campers must pass a swim test with the fins in order to use them during Friday’s free swim. Weeks 1 & 5

Art-Rageous – Full – Waitlist only for weeks 2 & 6

Campers will explore different mediums like paint, pastels, collages and more to create their own masterpieces! Campers will explore the arts and culture throughout the area. During Week 1 campers will be encouraged to enter their projects into the Washington County Expo. Children are encourages to wear clothes that can get messy. Weeks 2 & 6


This camp is designed for campers who would like to explore the world of fashion and different beauty trends. A funded field trip to Goodwill is included. Campers will have the opportunity to create and design their own unique outfits and put on a fashion show at the end of the week. Week 4

Ultimate Lego Building – Full – Waitlist Only

Do you believe you are the next Lego Master? Grab your bricks and get ready to learn through play. Campers will use Lego to explore, investigate, experiment, challenge one another, question, and build all while exploring STEAM. Week 7


Ready, Set, Cook – Full – Waitlist Only for Week 10

Our hands-on camp allows campers to learn how to make delicious recipes and explore different techniques. Campers will learn to follow recipes and acquire skills through cooking, games, and much more. While health and nutrition will be a part of this camp, we will also be making appetizers and desserts. Weeks 8 & 10

Too Fast Too Furious – Go Karts!

Participants will experience the fun and excitement of building their own wooden go-kart. Campers will be using STEAM principles, such as math, science and art. Children will get to decorate and race their go-kart on the last day. Campers will need a bicycle helmet and will get to take their go-kart home. Week 9

Pangborn Park Playground Camp 

Ages 6-12

Weeks 2 & 4-9

$25 Members & Program Participant

Sponsored by the City of Hagerstown, The YMCA will be managing a summer camp at Pangborn Park.  Activities include STEAM, sports, games, arts and crafts, and water activities.

Breakfast and lunch are provided at no additional fee. Camp hours are from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily.
