Celebrate Black History Month!

Author Ed Maliskas holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Illinois. During his time there, he performed in the popular inter-racial soul band “Eddie and the Sensations.” Ed contends that the Number One Black History site in America is right here in Washington County. Come meet and chat about it!

Join author Ed Maliskas for a meet and greet at the Hagerstown Y and learn all about his book “john brown to james brown”. Ed tells the story of a distinctively American saga that unfolds on a small farm property in rural Western Maryland. Join him on Wednesday, February 16th, to chat with him in person about the giants of rhythm and blues, including James Brown, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, the Drifters, and scores of others, performed on the John Brown Farm.
