Teacher for Before and After School Enrichment:
Under the direction of the Base Director, the Base Teacher is responsible for planning and assisting with the daily program as it relates to children and their classroom activities. Major emphasis is on program excellence and developing quality care of the highest standard. The Base Teacher will assist ongoing program continuity by ensuring that scheduled program and facility use plans are followed and applies MSDE regulations and standards.
Base Aid:
Under the direction of the Base Director, the Base Assistant is responsible for assisting with the daily program as it relates to children and their classroom activities. Major emphasis is on program excellence and developing quality care of the highest standard. The Base Assistant will maintain ongoing program continuity by assisting the Base Director to ensure that scheduled program and facility use plans are followed and abides by MSDE regulations and standards
Group Fitness Instructor
Looking for instructors who can teach mornings and/or evenings. The position calls for someone who is engaging, upbeat, cheerful and loves fitness. Certifications preferred. Experience in teaching group classes desired for position.
Lifeguard
How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:
As a Y Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and operation of the Y swimming pool during operating hours. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area’s largest provider of swim lessons. You will be responsible for the safety of all swimmers and the chemical conditions in the pool. You will work to safeguard the health and safety of Y members, participants, and guests. As a Y Lifeguard, you’ll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.
This work is right for you if you have:
• A love of swimming
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
• The ability to pass a swim test
• A willingness to obtain the Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid certifications, if you do not currently have them
Swim Instructor
How this role contributes to the Y’s mission:
As a Y Swim Instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach children and adults the joy and life skill of swimming and safety in and around the water. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area’s largest provider of swim lessons. The Y Swim Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction, and motivation for students of all ages in swimming classes. You’ll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.
This work is right for you if you have:
- A love of swimming and of helping youth and adults learn
• The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
• A willingness to obtain Swim Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Basic First Aid certifications
• Reached the age of 16
Gator Swim Team Coach
As a Y Swim Coach, you will assist with teaching, administration, and deck coaching for the competitive swimming program. You will train and supervise swimmers as well as conduct safe, effective team practices and swim meet warm-up sessions. You will engage with swimmers during practice, events, and functions. You will be supported in your work as a part of the leading mission-driven organization for strengthening community, and the area’s largest provider of swim lessons. The Y Swim Teach Coach is a positive role model for youth members at the Y. You’ll contribute to the Y and to the community by enhancing the well-being and safety of all.
This work is right for you if you have:
- A love of swimming and of helping youth and adults learn
- Prior experience in competitive swimming
- The ability to clearly communicate and effectively listen to children, parents/guardians, members, and other Y associates
- A willingness to obtain CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, Oxygen, and related coaching certifications depending on levels, paid for by the Y
- The ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
